Dehradun, January 23

Trivendra Panwar, president, election campaign committee of the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal, claimed that party candidates would surely win a majority in the state elections.

He alleged that the BJP and Congress governments had done nothing for the development of the state. He was addressing mediapersons at a press conference held here today.

Panwar cornered the Congress-led government for not taking effective steps for the development of the state. He said higher areas still lacked basic amenities like road, potable water, etc. According to him, the state government had done nothing to address the grievances of those villagers who faced the brunt of natural calamities.

Panwar alleged that corruption had become rampant in government departments for the last 16 years. Panwar said party activists were told to spread the UKD ideology among the masses. According to him, voters were looking for a third front as both parties had failed to deliver in the state. He urged voters to cast their votes in favour of the UKD candidate if they wanted to see overall development of the state.

Sanjay Chettri, Jai Prakash Upadhaya, Harish Pathak, BD Raturi, etc were present.
