The Forum of Educationists for Improvement in School Education (FEISE) today lauded the efforts of the state government in expanding the network of education in Shahpur Assembly segment, especially in the Dharkandi area.

RK Prashar, president of the forum, while taking cognizance of the growth of education in the Shahpur area, said here today that it was due to the endeavours of KS Pathania that several schools in the Dharkandi area, which had been neglected over the years, were now being taken care of.

He said a new ray of hope had been kindled in this most backward belt of Dharkandi, largely inhabited by poor and illiterate people.

The forum appreciated the efforts of the present government in the field of education like many schools upgraded to middle, high and senior secondary schools.

Even primary schools were opened up in the area and a new degree college at Lanj, bringing about a revolution in backward and neglected Dharkandi and Changar belts.

He said that to retain the campus of the Central University at Shahpur till now had helped in the growth of education network in the area.

He said the forum would soon organise a state-level function at Dharamsala in which it would honour Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and KS Pathania for their contribution towards the development of education, especially for their focus on rural and backward areas in the state.
