ROHTAK: A worker was killed due to suffocation during a sewerage-related task on Gohana Road in the district here today.

Rohtak, June 29

A worker was killed due to suffocation during a sewerage-related task on Gohana Road in the district here today. The deceased has been identified as Ashok (40). He died due to suffocation after he got stuck in a sewer.

The incident took place near Peer Bodhi village. The victim’s fellow workers alleged that the mishap had taken place due to lack of adequate safety measures and held the contractor responsible for it.

District administrative authorities as well as senior officials of the Department of Public Health and Engineering reached the spot and assured the workers of taking appropriate action in the matter. —TNS
