3 gangsters held after shootout with police

SONEPAT: After a brief exchange of fire between the police and five car-borne armed gangsters on a road between Bidhlan and Sisana in the district late on Wednesday evening, the cops overpowered three of them, identified as Pawan and Rajbir of Bhainswal Kalan village and Ravinder of Gawasin in Jhajjar district.

After a brief exchange of fire between the police and five car-borne armed gangsters on a road between Bidhlan and Sisana in the district late on Wednesday evening, the cops overpowered three of them, identified as Pawan and Rajbir of Bhainswal Kalan village and Ravinder of Gawasin in Jhajjar district.

The police also seized three country-made pistols from their possession. The arrested accused were today produced here in court and sent to judicial custody.

The police had got a tip-off about the movement of the five armed gangsters in the car. In the firing incident, the SHO suffered a minor knee injury.

Pawan is an accused in a double-murder case at Pinana village in the district in case dating November 14, 2015.

The SHO claimed that the two other accused Sukhbir and Rajesh would be arrested soon.
