Rewari, January 22

Director General of Poilce (DGP) BS Sandhu today said the recruitment process for the posts of 4,500 men and 1,000 women constables and more than 350 sub-inspectors would be initiated in February. Recruitment would be made on the merit basis and there would be no interview. Also, counsellors would be appointed in 18 schools run by the Haryana Police to generate awareness about crime against children.

Sandhu, while interacting with mediapersons here today, said a campaign called ‘Durga Shakti’ would be launched to check crime against women in the state.

“Under the campaign, five women SPOs each will be recruited for every village and ward. They will keep a vigil on crimes against women and will directly report to the district police head. Preventing crime against women is a priority with the Haryana Police and many schemes have been implemented in this regard,” the DGP added. — TNS
