Ambala, July 21

Eyeing a second term, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today lashed out at the Congress and said the Congress and its leaders had kept their focus on the development of a particular family.

He was addressing party workers during his thanksgiving programme for BJP’s victory on all 10 seats on Sunday at the new grain market in Ambala City.

Taking a dig at the Congress, the CM said, “In the BJP, a common party worker can become the Prime Minister, but the same thing is not possible in the Congress due to nepotism. While the BJP has strengthened its organisation till the ‘panna’ level, the Congress is looking for someone to take the post of its national president.”

“There is a difference in the ideology of the BJP and other political parties. Leaders of the Congress have worked for the welfare for a particular family. We will also work for the welfare for our family but our family consists 2.5 crore people of Haryana. The Congress has been saying that the BJP only talks about nationalism, but the fact is that it is the Congress that has created such an atmosphere in the country. It was evident in the manifesto of the Congress released during the Lok Sabha elections. There is no comparison between Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi,” he said.

Highlighting the achievements during his tenure, Khattar said the BJP had ensured corruption-free and transparent governance in the state. He expressed his concern over the depleting water table too.
