A 24-year-old woman died under mysterious circumstances in Khatik Basti here on Friday night. The deceased was identified as Pooja (24), wife of Ravi of Khatik Basti.

Babita of Vidyanand Colony, mother of the deceased, told the police that her daughter married Ravi of Khatik Basti four years ago, but her in-laws had been demanding more dowry and torturing her. She alleged that Ravi, along with his father Bhanwar Singh, mother Paro, sister Pinki and brother-in-law Rajesh, strangulated Pooja on Friday night.
