Kaithal woman commits suicide

KAITHAL: A woman committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Kheri Sheru village in Kaithal district on Friday evening. The brother of the deceased, Vikas, in his complaint to the police alleged that his sister Gurmeet was married to Sanju of Kheri Sheru village in 2012. He said his sister did not have a child and her in-laws used to taunt her for the same. She was disturbed because of the harassment. "Gurmeet returned home on many occasions, but went back to her in-laws home after the intervention of the panchayats. Upset over the harassment, she hanged herself in her room," said her brother. The police and the forensic team visited her home and a case has been registered against her in-laws. TNS
