Local BJP leader shot dead in Karnal

KARNAL: BJP Nilokheri mandal vice president Tajinder Singh Bagga (45) was shot dead by two bike-borne assailants in Gol market on Monday evening.

BJP Nilokheri mandal vice president Tajinder Singh Bagga (45) was shot dead by two bike-borne assailants in Gol market on Monday evening.

He was the president of the Jewellers Association, Nilokheri.

As per information, Bagga went to a Gol market for some work on a scooter.

Meanwhile, two youths wearing masks shot at him. He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Superintendent of Police Surinder Singh Bhoria said the preliminary investigation reveals old enmity behind the murder.

He said that a team comprising SHO Butana and CIA staff members was out to nab the assailants.

Jagmohan Anand, BJP district president, confirmed he was vice president of the BJP Nilokheri mandal and he has spoken to the SP for speedy arrest of the accused.

The sources said that Bagga was involved in a dispute with someone of the town and he had received a call from abroad recently regarding the issue.
