The Haryana Human Rights Commission (HHRC) has sought a report from the SP about the investigation into the death of a seven-year-old boy in July. Two doctors of a private hospital here are booked in connection with the case.

The SP has been asked to submit the report in eight weeks.

The HHRC’s direction comes on a complaint filed recently by the boy’s father, Satyawan Sharma. He had urged the commission that the police should be asked to take action against the accused — Dr Krishan and Dr Ashok.

“I took my son Dipanshu to a private hospital in Mahendragarh on the night of July 27, as he was running high fever. The doctors admitted him to the ICU after I deposited Rs15,000. Blood tests were conducted. The doctors told me test reports were normal and Dipanshu would get well soon,” said Sharma, a native of Sayana village.

The next morning, the doctors had asked Sharma to get an MRI test from Rewari.

“After examining Dipanshu, doctors in a Rewari hospital told me ge had died two hours earlier. Mahendragarh doctors had concealed this information from me and, instead, sent me to Rewari on the pretext of an MRI test. Their negligence led to my son’s death,” Sharma alleged.

He said the police had registered a case under Section 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC against the two doctors on August 6, but they had not been arrested.
