Sarfaraz to remain in top central contract category
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made it clear that ousted captain Sarfaraz Ahmed will remain in Category A of the central contracts given to players as he is available for selection in all three formats of the game. A PCB spokesperson said Ahmed would retain his top category in the central contracts which run till July next year.

Tai Tzu Ying beat Nozomi Okuhara 21-17 21-14 in the women’s singles final of the Denmark Open. Kento Momota beat Chen Long 21-14 21-12 for the men’s singles title.
Oz bring in Harris, Hussey as coaches for T20 series
Mike Hussey and Ryan Harris will join Australia’s backroom staff for the T20I series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Former Test batsman Hussey said he was also being looked at for a role in the T20 World Cup in Australia next year. Former Australia fast bowler Harris comes in as bowling coach, stepping away from his usual role at Australia’s National Cricket Centre academy in Brisbane. He replaces Troy Cooley, who coached the bowlers during Australia’s Ashes victory over England. The appointments continue head coach Justin Langer’s use of short-term assistants following the resignation of bowling coach David Saker in the last home summer.
Military games: Boxers Negi, Jaideep in Round of 16
Boxers Duryodhan Singh Negi and Jaideep advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the 7th CISM World Military Games. Negi (69kg) beat Hikal Mohamed of Egypt 5-0 in his Round of 32 bout while Jaideep (75kg) won by an identical margin against Nabah Ahmad of Qatar.
Former Maharashtra wrestler Chougule dies
Maharashtra wrestling legend Dadu Chougule died of a heart attack in Kolhapur. He was 73. Chougule won several prestigious titles such as Maharashtra Kesari, Rustam-e-Hind Kesari, Mahan Bharat Kesari in the 1970s. He won the silver in the Commonwealth Games in New Zealand in 1974. — Agencies

Marquez wins 10th title of 2019 MotoGP season
World champion Marc Marquez of Repsol Honda Team rode a brilliant race to claim his 10th title of the season at the Motul Grand Prix of Japan at the Twin Ring Motegi circuit here on Sunday. The 26-year-old Honda rider clinched the title with a timing of 42:42.492 sec. Yamaha SRT’s Fabio Qartararo finished second, 0.870 seconds behind Marquez.
Thomas holds off Lee to win second CJ Cup title
Justin Thomas staved off a challenge by Danny Lee to claim his second CJ Cup title in three years with a two-shot victory over the South Korea-born New Zealander at Nine Bridges on Sunday. Thomas signed off with a 5-under 67 for a winning total of 20-under 268, while Lee carded 69 to finish in second place to the American. Agencies
