‘Check drug menace in Kotkhai apple belt’

Kotkhai zila parishad member Neelam Saraik today demanded strict action against drug peddlers operating in the apple belt.

At the monthly meeting of the Shimla zila parishad here today, Saraik said the menace was spreading alarmingly in the apple belt. “Drug smugglers have become active and are spoiling the rural and urban youth in the apple belt. The police should constitute a local committee to check the spread of the menace in the Jubbal-Kotkhai and other parts of the district as well,” she demanded.

The members from other wards demanded setting up of garbage disposal sites for safe disposal of solid waste in each ward in the district. — TNS
