Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the closing ceremony of the ‘Kotkhai Utsav’, which conlcuded on Wednesday, said the state government would operate heli-taxi services from other places also to bring in tourists in the state.

He said Rs 55-crore drinking water project for 27 panchayats in Jubbal-Kotkhai would be funded by BRICS.

“The state government has got schemes and projects worth Rs 4,365 crore sanctioned from the Union Government during a short period of five months,” he said.

He announced Rs 5 crore for beautification of Hatkoti temple complex, PWD division at Kotkhai, degree college at Kotkhai, Rs 1 crore for Vikas Bhawan at Kotkhai, PG classes in four subjects at Degree College Saraswati Nagar, and new trades for students at Atal Behari Vajpayee Engineering College, Pragatinagar.

He also announced Rs 4 crore for sewerage scheme at Saraswati Nagar and Rs 2.11 crore for improving power supply in Nawar area.

The Chief Minister also announced district-level status for ‘Kotkhai Utsav’ at Kotkhai.

He also laid foundation stone of 400-meter synthetic track to be constructed at a cost of Rs 12.50 crore at Saraswati Nagar.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated a tourist reception centre-cum-tracking hostel and parking at Giri Ganga Resort at Kharapathar, constructed at a cost of Rs 77 lakh.

He also performed ‘bhoomi pujan’ of Darkoti-Grawag irrigation scheme that will provide irrigation facilities to 21 villages of four panchayats in the area. He also performed ‘bhoomi pujan’ of the Kotkhai bus stand.

He laid foundation stone of Sabhagaar at Pragatinagar, to be constructed at a cost of Rs 9.88 crore.

Industries and Technical Education Minister Bikram Singh Thakur and local MLA Narender Bragta thanked the Chief Minister for developmental works in the state.
