New Shimla MC lucky: Dhumal

The newly-elected BJP Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC) are lucky as Shimla got included in the Smart City project just after they assumed office, said former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition PK Dhumal, while addressing the Parivartan Rath Yatra in Baldeha in Kasumpti Assembly constituency today.

Lashing out at the Congress government, he said there was no governance in the state. The situation is so pathetic in Theog that nowadays residents themselves catched the accused and hand over them to the police. Forest mafia was active and thousands of trees had been axed without permission and when one forest guard tried to stop them, he was brutally murdered, Dhumal said and added that the state was gaining the publicity of ‘Drug Bhumi’ these days.

Development activities had come to a standstill and the government was busy laying stones, Dhumal alleged.
