Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has said that the Congress president Rahul Gandhi had to apologize before the Supreme Court for his indecent remarks against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Thakur said that the people of the country will never forgive those who made derogatory remarks against the popular Prime Minister. Thakur was speaking at the conference in Bhattiyat Assembly constituency of Chamba district organized by the BJP Mandal Bhattiyat today.

The Chief Minister said that saying thief to the Prime Minister of the country was not only unfortunate, but it was a matter of concern for a healthy democracy. He said that people of the country were determined to respond to Rahul Gandhi’s such comments in the Lok Sabha elections. He said that in a democratic set up the leaders, who used such abusive language, did not deserve to be the representatives of the people.

Thakur said that Narendra Modi had worked to strengthen all sections of society. Under his able leadership, India was reckoned amongst the most powerful countries of the world. He said that Modi government had launched various welfare schemes for the people.

He said that as a result of growth in the past five years, the country had become the fifth largest economy. Thakur urged the people to vote in favour of Kangra Lok Sabha candidate Kishan Kapoor which would strengthen the hands of the Prime Minister.

Minister Sarveen Chaudhary, BJP candidate from Kangra Kishan Kapoor, Bhattiyat MLA Vikram Jaryal and Bharmour MLA Jia Lal Kapoor were also present.

Country progressing under Modi govt: Thakur 

Kangra: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Monday said the people of the country had made up their minds to see Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister again and hoped that all four seats in the state would be bagged by the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. He was addressing a public meeting at Shahpur. The CM said the people of the country knew it was during the Modi government that the country had witnessed an overall development. He said the government implemented welfare schemes for all sections of society. Talking to mediapersons, he said if Suresh Chandel, who was in touch with the opposition, it would have no impact on the BJP. He also lauded the performance of government school students who had performed well in the Class XII state board examination. oc
