Self-confidence wins the game

There is an old African proverb, which says “when all the internal enemies are defeated, enemies outside us can do no harm.” The enemies to be defeated are self-doubt and inner fear.

I believe confidence is something which is to be gained by individuals at every step of their lives. The only thing that holds us back from doing what we can do is nothing but lack of self-confidence. One always wants to achieve success and this requires the power to make decisions and that again requires confidence.

A quote by Marianne Williamson mentioned in her book, “A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of a Course in Miracles” inspires me during my periods of struggles. “We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? We are all meant to shine, it is not just in some of us, it’s in everyone.”

I feel these words are embossed deeply on my mind and I feel elated. This is the positivity that keeps me going in most-testing times. Sometimes confidence shows outwardly but mostly it is inward.
