Book on tobacco control laws released

SRINAGAR: Governor NN Vohra released “Tobacco Control Laws and Measures”, a booklet compiled by AM Mir, IAS (retd), Executive Director of the J&K Voluntary Health and Development Association.

Governor NN Vohra released “Tobacco Control Laws and Measures”, a booklet compiled by AM Mir, IAS (retd), Executive Director of the J&K Voluntary Health and Development Association.

The Governor said this publication would make valuable contribution towards sensitising the public at large about the extremely harmful effects of smoking and consumption of tobacco products, most of which result in life-threatening medical problems. He emphasised the importance of mobilising volunteers from various segments of society and organisations for raising awareness on a much larger scale about the adverse consequences of smoking and consumption of tobacco and its related products.

The Governor complimented the association and its members for the valuable work being done by them.
