Srinagar: The Communist Party of India Marxist (CPM) has expressed concern over the attacks on Kashmiri students and businessmen in various parts of India. “Students were beaten up in Dehradun by the Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad. Threats and attacks on Kashmiri students and traders have taken place in other places too. Jammu is under curfew after attacks on Kashmiri residents,” said a statement issued by the political bureau of the CPM. “It is natural that people are aggrieved and saddened by the killing of 40 CRPF men in Pulwama. But to use this occasion to target innocent Kashmiris is reprehensible,” it said. The bureau demanded that the Central and state governments took all steps to protect Kashmiri residents. “Firm action must be taken against those resorting to hate campaigns and violence,” it said.
