Militants lobbed a hand grenade on a CRPF bunker in Lal Chowk of Srinagar city on Friday evening.
The grenade was lobbed at a CRPF bunker at Platinum Post in Lal Chowk around 7 pm, which missed the target.
“It blasted 30 metres away from the bunker. There was no loss or injury in the blast,” said a CRPF spokesman in Srinagar.
The security forces later cordoned the area to trace the attackers. However, sources said militants managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness.
The grenade explosion in the city centre created panic in the area. — TNS
