Dalits protest temple demolition

JAMMU: The Dalit community today held a protest against the demolition of a temple of Guru Ravidass in New Delhi.

The Dalit community today held a protest against the demolition of a temple of Guru Ravidass in New Delhi.

Under the banner of Shri Guru Ravidass Sabha, a protest was organised against the Delhi government and its development authorities.

“The Delhi government has hurt our sentiments. It is a matter of concern that a religious structure has been demolished. We condemn this incident and seek the temple’s restoration,” said Sham Lal Basoon, general secretary of the sabha.

He said the All India Ravidassia Dharam Sangathan under its president Sant Sukhdev Maharaj will hold a rally at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, on August 21 to lodge its protest.
