JAMMU: Two persons were killed and 13 others injured in a road accident on the Kishtwar Sarthal road on Friday.

Two persons were killed and 13 others injured in a road accident on the Kishtwar Sarthal road on Friday.

According to reports, Trax Toofan, a ten-seater commercial vehicle, was on its way to Kishtwar from Sarthal with 16 passengers in it, when it met with an accident in which two persons died on the spot and others received injuries. The injured were rescued with the help of locals and shifted to district hospital, Kishtwar, with the help of Ambulance and the local police.

The three who were injured seriously were shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, for treatment while others are being treated at District hospital, Kishtwar.

Officials informed that in the initial investigation that it had been observed that the accident took place due to overloading. Shockingly, the permit of the vehicle had also expired. The overloading of the vehicle is a regular practice among the commercial operators in the erstwhile Doda District.
