Coming down heavily on Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for his alleged derogatory remarks against Kashmir girls, the Sikh United Front said today that “Sikhs will protect daughters of Jammu and Kashmir in any circumstance”.

Talking to mediapersons here, Sudershan Singh Wazir, chairman of the front, said, “We as a community take strong exception to the statement of few leaders from outside the state who have said that after the abrogation of Article 370, they would bring girls from Jammu and Kashmir.” Wazir condemned the alleged derogatory and demeaning statement of people “with polluted mindset who have no sense of sanctity of the Indian culture and ethos”.

The leader said Sikhs appeal to the people of J&K to maintain traditional communal harmony in the state and pledged that the community would always act as a buffer between various sections of society to maintain the secular character of the state and the country.
