Indira Priyadarshani beat Sangrur school Tournament

Indra Priyadarshani Higher Sec School Bhopal beat Govt (Raj) Sr Sec School Sangrur by 5-1 in the league fixture of the 11th All India Balwant Singh Kapur Hockey Tournament at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium here today.

In other matches Guru Gobind Singh Sports College Lucknow and Agri Sr Sec School Kheri Garhi (Delhi) locked at 2-2 and claimed one point each.

Bihar Regimental Centre Danapur was able to draw with Govt Model School Jalandhar by 1-1. Olympian Surinder Singh Sodhi IG RPF, Olympian Varinder Singh and Olympian Charanjit Kumar visited the field today.

In the first match played between Guru Gobind Singh Sports College Lucknow and VS Agri Sr Sec School Kheri Garhi (Delhi) both the teams displayed good skills. In the 15th minute Delhi took lead when Parmod netted the ball from right flank (1-0).

Two minutes later Lucknow’s Aditya Yadav scored the equalizer (1-1). In the 33rd minute of the game Aditya once again struck for Lucknow to earn lead (2-1). At half time Lucknow was leading by 2-1. However, in the 48th minute, Delhi boys mounted pressure and earned a penalty corner. Happy Bhagat made no mistake to equalise to split one point each.

In the second match, Indira Pridarshani Higher Sec School, Bhopal beat Govt (Raj) Sr Sec School Sangrur by 5-1.

The scorer for the winners were Harshdeep Singh in the 24th minute, Arjun Sharma in the 25th minute, Mohan Mahor in the 37th minute, Arjun Sharma in the 42nd minute, Ameen Khan in the 44th minute of the game.

For Sangrur, Harish Bawa scored the alone goal in the 49th minute of the play (5-1).

In the third match played between Model School Jalandhar and Bihar Regimental Centre Deanapur, Jalandhar boys took the lead in the 33rd minute when Inderjit Singh netted the ball from the left flank(1-0). In the 53rd minute of the second half Danapur’s Naveen Minz scored the equalizer (1-1).
