PHAGWARA: Gurnam Chand, a resident of Paddi-Jagir village, reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree on Sunday. The police said stress was said to be the cause behind the extreme step. The police have registered a case and handed over the body to his family after autopsy. OC
2 arrested with heroin
PHILLAUR: The police seized 100- gm heroin from two persons and arrested them on Sunday night. Sewa Singh and Deva Singh were arrested at a naka near the Sutlej bridge. The duo, who were coming from the Ludhiana side, were travelling in a car. OC
