Official hailed for changing face of govt schools

JALANDHAR: Block Primary Education Officer, Block Lohiya Khas, Santokh Singh, has received an appreciation letter from the Education Secretary Krishan Kumar on Saturday or his dedicated efforts in improving the quality of education at all schools of his block.

Block Primary Education Officer, Block Lohiya Khas, Santokh Singh, has received an appreciation letter from the Education Secretary Krishan Kumar on Saturday or his dedicated efforts in improving the quality of education at all schools of his block.

The Education Secretary has also praised him for motivating teachers and people, residing in rural areas, for contributing physical or financial aid for the development of schools.

Santokh Singh, the face behind Government Primary Schools at Lohiya Khas, Jalandhar, said: “I spend my time in field work, visiting different schools at my block and nearby villages. I make sure to visit six to seven schools on daily basis and have set a target to inspire teachers and residents I can.”

He said: “On off days he do not miss a chance to visit schools to have a look what is required or missing at the schools.”

He said: “ He feels proud and happy when he look around the changing face of the schools at his block, adding that the walls of the schools are decorated with art work, poems and educative information. There is greenery all-around, clean playgrounds, neatly laid out libraries and LED facility for kids at the schools.”

Santokh Singh said: “ He is motivating teachers, and teaching students, so that definition and perception about the government schools can be changed.”

“Using innovative teaching methods and material, the schools under his block have produce impressive academic results under the parameters of the “Padho Punjab, Padhao Punjab” mission. Students of his block are taking part in sports.”

He said: While sharing his future plans said: “I will make sure that by March 2019, all schools in my block are well equipped with the latest facilities and the students outshine in academics results.”

He said: “He has recently organised district-level tournaments to prepare students for the state and national level competitions.
