JALANDHAR: The proposed school games for teachers have been postponed for the second time in view of the board exams drawing near, Lohri festival and Gurpurab, falling in between.

The proposed school games for teachers have been postponed for the second time in view of the board exams drawing near, Lohri festival and Gurpurab, falling in between. Majority of teachers are busy in enrolment campaigns.

The sports tournament was first scheduled to be held in Ludhiana from December 26 to 28 but was postponed to January 11 to 13 due to panchayat elections as teachers were assigned election duty.

No further dates have been fixed by the Education Department yet, but it is expected that the games will be held after the board exams.

From each district, a contingent of 288 teachers will participate in the games. In all, over 4,000 teachers from 22 districts of the state are expected to participate in the event.
