Experts discuss ways to combat waste material

LUDHIANA: Experts discussed about techniques, methods and approaches for reduction of waste during a programme titled “Waste management by Additive Manufacturing” that started at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College.

Experts discussed about techniques, methods and approaches for reduction of waste during a programme titled “Waste management by Additive Manufacturing” that started at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College. The two-week ‘faculty development’ programme on the subject began at the production engineering department of the college today.

Speaking about the importance of the subject, Dr Rupinder Singh coordinator for the programme, said the programme was highly important as the wastage leads to pollution, and if it could be used for manufacturing process, it would also mean saving of cost as well.

He said more than 80 participants applied for the course from which 55 have been shortlisted. This programme will enhance and guide the minds of researchers in the area of waste management by scientific techniques along with practical exposure.

Dr OP Singh, Principal, BCET, Gurdaspur, was the chief guest.
