Ludhiana, Ferozepur eves to clash in final

Ludhiana, August 18

Ludhiana and Ferozepur scripted victories in the semi-final (girls) to set up the title clash in the 6th Sub-Junior Punjab State Baseball Tournament for Boys and Girls being played at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Gill village near here today.

Ferozepur players proved too good for Amritsar girls whom they drubbed 11-1 to assure for themselves a place in the summit clash, while hosts Ludhiana survived many anxious moments against Moga before coming out triumphant with a wafer-thin margin of one point (9-8) to sneak into the finals.

In the semi-final between Ferozepur and Amritsar, Khushdeep Kaur, Arshdeep Kaur and Loveleen contributed three runs each for the winning side, while Jarmandeep Kaur was the lone scorer for the losing team.

For Ludhiana, Kamla, Sadhna and Navdeep Kaur were the main scorers, chipping in with a brace each and for Moga, Prabhjot Kaur and Sumanpreet Kaur fought well, scoring two runs each.
