Ludhiana: Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana, organised an event “A day in the garden of joy” for tiny tots. Little ones made the best of their days with fun-filled activities, including bouncy and toy train among others. Students learnt names of colours through 3D bowling games.Students had their lunch in the garden. Mouthwatering snacks along with a gift for every kid was an icing on the cake. 

Skill Education event organised

BCM Arya Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana, organised a “Skill Education” programme. The seminar was held in association with the Central Board of Secondary Education and National Stock Exchange of India Limited. Dr Moushumi Sarkar, Assistant Secretary, Skill Education, CBSE, and G C Sharma, Education Advisor, NSE Academy, presided over the evnt. Around 180 Principals from various schools participated in the event. Sharma initiated the session with special focus on myriad financial challenges. He focused on a scientific approach to financial literacy, inlcuding combining awareness, knowledge, skill and attitude to enable students to make sound financial choices. Dr Moushumi addressed various queries regarding skill education. Principal Dr Paramjit Kaur deliberated on the need for skill education in schools to help students in vertical mobility.

Annual prize distribution ceremony

Sat Paul Mittal School organised an annual prize distribution ceremony for students of 2018-19 academic session. The function was held to award Class VI, IX and XI students for achieving glorious heights in school examinations and co-curricular activities. Bipin Gupta, vice chairman, governing council, was the chief guest on the occasion. Principal Bhupinder Gogia welcomed Gupta. The evnt commenced by seeking blessings of the Almighty followed by a welcome address by Gupta. He honoured the deserving students with prizes and awards. The Nehru Sidhant Kendra Trust and Parent Student Committee gave a cash prize of Rs 2,000 to students who ranked first, Rs 1,500 to those who stood second and Rs 1,000 to the ones who ranked third. The chief guest motivated the students to work hard with and strive for better results in the future. He urged the parents and students to lay emphasis not only on academics but also on co-curricular activities. 

Healthy tiffin competition held

Ryan International School, Dugri, organised a “Healthy Tiffin” and “Salad Making” competition. Class I students brought tiffins having with a balanced diet. Class VI to X students revealed their creativity through beautiful designs and patterns formed with different mouth-watering salads. Students were adjudged on the basis of cleanliness, nutrition, taste and presentation. Judges urged students to make salad eating a routine habit in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Students celebrate Baisakhi

Students of Spring Dale Senior Secondary Public School celebrated Baisakhi with fervour. The event began with recitation of Shabad “Waho Waho Gur Gobind Singh” in the morning assembly. Students visited fields where wheat crop was ready to be harvested and sang a song "Teri Kanak Di Rakhi Mundiya, Main Ni Behndi" and danced on dhol beats. Avinash Kaur Walia, managing director, highlighted the religious, cultural, historical and economic importance of the festival. Directors Mandeep Singh and Kamalpreet Kaur told the students about Jallianwala Bagh tragedy where innocent people laid down their lives for the freedom of the country. Principal Anil Kumar Sharma urged the students to be faithful. TNS
