Ludhiana, December 12

A special session was today organised by the Ludhiana Commissionerate where discussions were held over investigation into rape cases.

The session was chaired by Gurpreet Kaur, CJM-cum-Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority. Assistant Commissioner of Police Rupinder Kaur Bhatti, additional SHOs of all police stations and women officers attended the session. Dr Ruchi Aggarwal of Civil Hospital, Neelu Sharma, Additional District Attorney, Ludhiana, and Monica Gupta, ADA Ludhiana, were also present.

The experts told the police officers about how to conduct the probe in a rape case in a scientific way, so justice could be delivered to victims in minimum time and culprits punished.

The police officers also shared problems they faced during the course of investigation into such cases. “There should be a steady and factual probe in cases of assault on women and there should remain no loopholes in investigation,” the experts said.
