LUDHIANA: Students of Spring Dale Senior Secondary Public School won four gold, three silver and two bronze medals in the Summer National Taekwondo Games-2018 organised by the Taekwondo Board of India.

Students of Spring Dale Senior Secondary Public School won four gold, three silver and two bronze medals in the Summer National Taekwondo Games-2018 organised by the Taekwondo Board of India. Kamal Reehal (Class IX), Gurman Singh (Class VIII), Rahul Rana (Class VIII), Aditya Malhotra (Class V) won gold medals. Danish (Class X), Aakash Kumar (Class VIII) and Hardik Kumar (Class VII) bagged silver medal. Nissar Ansari (Class X) and Yashpreet Singh (Class VIII) clinched bronze medal.

BCM School reopens 

BCM School, Basant City, welcomed students after the summer break with rejuvenated spirits. Young gleaming faces commenced their first day with great enthusiasm in company of their teachers. Recreational activities, including Kho-Kho, volleyball, art and craft and book reading sessions were held to inculcate collaborative, leadership and problem-solving skills in students.

Fun-filled maths games held

Bal Bharati Public School organised mathematical games for students of Class I to V in order to promote love for maths and bring forth opportunities to explore fundamental number concepts. Students eagerly participated in number combinations, place value, patterns and other important maths concepts.

Workshop on developing skills

To apprise teachers of latest communication techniques, the PCTE conducted a workshop for Tagore Public School teachers. Resource person Harpreet Kang, Dean, International Affairs, PCTE touched upon various aspects of language. Importance of vocabulary, proper stress and intonation for correct pronunciation and usage of phonetics were highlights of the workshop.

Principal assumes charge

Gunmeet Kaur took charge of principal at GGN Public School. Management and school staff welcomed her on joining the prestigious institution and hoped that school will touch new heights of success and glory under her guidance and able leadership.

Capacity-building programme 

A two-day capacity building programme was organised for senior students in subjects, including physics, biology, chemistry and mathematics. As many as 54 teachers from various DAV schools attended the session. A workshop began with planting of saplings and spreading the message of 'each one plant one’. All the resource persons discussed important topics, including competitive exams, latest exam patterns, common errors done by students and analysis of Class XII board exam. They also stressed on new engaging techniques of teaching and providing detailed knowledge to students for their all-round development.

Seminar held on de-stressing

Ryan International School, Jamalpur, organised a stress reduction workshop. Suresh Prabhakar guided how one can increase ability to deal with stress in daily life, learn to cope with unusual stressful situation, increase concentration and improve self-esteem.
