Pak summons India''s Deputy High Commissioner over ''ceasefire violations''

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan High Commission summoned the Indian deputy high commissioner to protest “truce violations” on the India-Pakistan border on Friday — the third time this past week.

Islamabad, October 28

Pakistan High Commission summoned the Indian deputy high commissioner to protest “truce violations” on the India-Pakistan border on Friday — the third time this past week, as cross-border shelling since the past few days raise tensions between the two countries.

"(Pakistan) strongly condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations on October 27 by the Indian Forces at the Working Boundary in Shakargarh sector and on the LoC in Nikial sector,” Pakistan Foreign Office said, claiming six civilians had been killed and 22 injured in the incident after Director General (South Asia and SAARC) Mohammad Faisal summoned India's Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh.

Pakistan has asked India to “investigate” the “continued truce violations” and stop "targeting" villages and civilians, the statement said.

Pakistan has violated truce more than 50 times since Indian Army struck terrorist launch pads in Pakistan on September 28. The military raid came within 10 days of a militant strike on an army camp in Kashmir. — PTI
