Choudhary had defeated Congress stalwart CP Joshi by a single vote in the 2008 assembly polls.

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and BJP state president Ashok Parnami condoled the death saying it was a great loss to the party and his constituency.

The strength in the 200-member House has been reduced to 199, with the BJP left with 158 MLAs.
