Barnala: A fire broke out at the Tapa branch of the Oriental Bank of Commerce on Monday. Watchman Suraj Kumar informed the bank staff and called fire tenders after which it was doused.

Some bank officials claimed that the fire seemed to have been caused by a short circuit. “We are conducting investigations. We have sought the details of damage from the bank officials,” the police said. — TNS
