Amritsar, December 6

State Food Processing Minister OP Soni on Thursday urged industrialists to help strengthen economy in Punjab. Addressing the inaugural function of the 13th edition of Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX), organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he said the state government was committed to extend every possible help to the industrialists.

The PITEX is organised in the holy city every year to facilitate business networking.

Soni said, “The strength of a state depends on the growth of the industrial sector. A flourishing industrial sector helps strengthen the socio-economic sectors of a state, besides providing numerous job avenues to the unemployed.”

Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla said the union government had ignored Punjab by not providing special industrial package thus derailing the state, especially its bordering districts, in terms of industrial development.
