Missing whisky: Capt orders probe by DGP

CHANDIGARH: Taking cognisance of The Tribune report (‘When Johnnies Walked, right out of the lab!’, July 21), Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today ordered the DGP to conduct an inquiry and submit a report in two weeks into the “disappearance” of 98 bottles of Johnnie Walker whisky from the Punjab State Drug Food and Chemical Testing Laboratory, Kharar.

Taking cognisance of The Tribune report (‘When Johnnies Walked, right out of the lab!’, July 21), Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today ordered the DGP to conduct an inquiry and submit a report in two weeks into the “disappearance” of 98 bottles of Johnnie Walker whisky from the Punjab State Drug Food and Chemical Testing Laboratory, Kharar.

The bottles had been deposited with the lab as samples of liquor seized by the state police. A verification of records showed that these bottles were missing.
