NRI’s murder: Oz cops in Ferozepur

FEROZEPUR: The Australian Federal Police officials, including Murray Taylor, Detective Superintendent, and Sanjay Maini, Legal Adviser of the Australian High Commission, today met district police officers in connection with the murder of Ravneet Kaur (29), an NRI from Australia.

Ferozepur, April 2

The Australian Federal Police officials, including Murray Taylor, Detective Superintendent, and Sanjay Maini, Legal Adviser of the Australian High Commission, today met district police officers in connection with the murder of Ravneet Kaur (29), an NRI from Australia. She had gone missing under mysterious circumstances on March 14 from Bagge ke Pippal village, around 11 km from here. Later, her body was recovered from the Bhakra canal near Lehragaga village following which the Ferozepur Police had registered a case against her husband Jaspreet Singh, his girlfriend Kiranjit Kaur, a resident of Australia, her sister Taranjit Kaur and Sandeep Singh, both residents of Samana in Patiala.

Sandeep Goel, SSP, Ferozepur, confirmed that the Australian officials had met him today. He said the police had already arrested four persons, including Taranjit, Sandeep, Gursewak Singh and Pushpinder Singh in connection with murder conspiracy.

The SSP said all details pertaining to the investigations were shared with the Australian officials and the process for the extradition of the main accused Jaspreet and his girlfriend Kiranjit would be initiated soon.
