The police have arrested a friend of Jaswinder Singh, alias Bagga (26), whose body was found near a godown in Bhawanigarh on September 7. Accused Kulwinder Singh had murdered him to avenge his thrashing by Bagga some days before the murder.

Sandeep Garg, SSP, said after the recovery of the body, he had formed a team, including CIA incharge Daljit Singh Virk and SHO, Bhawanigarh, Pritpal Singh, to investigate the case. During investigations, it came to light that Jaswinder Singh had beaten up his friend Kulwinder Singh after consuming liquor some days before the murder.

“To avenge his thrashing, Kulwinder, on the intervening night of September 6 and 7, took Jaswinder to a godown and consumed liquor there. Kulwinder first strangulated Jaswinder and then hit him on his head with a stone. A CCTV footage helped us in cracking the case. Our CIA team has arrested Kulwinder from Phagguwala-Sunam Kanchiya today,” said the SSP.
