Compulsory Primary Education at Lahore

THE Lahore Municipal Committee has adopted the proposal of Mr. Duni Chand, Bar-at-Law, that “in view of the general and insistent demand on the part of the people” and “the urgent need of spreading education among the masses of the people and the poorer classes in particular,” Part II of the Punjab Primary Education Act of 1919 shall be applied to the whole area within the municipal limits.

A special sub-committee will be constituted to consider objections, if any, that might be received and to take other steps to carry out the proposal.
