IT is not announced when the Lady Hardinge Medical College for Women will be opened for work. But the prospectus and rules of admission are published. Students will be trained both as nurses and doctors and the full course is spread over a period of 6 years. Applicants must be not under the 17 years age and have passed the Matriculation and Intermediate Examinations. There will be 3 sessions in year, the first from October till January, the second from January till April and third from April till middle of June. At the end of each session there will be a College examination. Students must also works as clerks or dressers for a few months in all departments and they must live in the students’ hostel paying Rs. 25 a month in the case of Europeans and Parsees and Rs.15 in that of Hindus, Mahomedans and Indian Christians. The cost of books will be about Rs. 60 a year. Applications for admission should reach the Principal a month before the session opens. It is presumed that the work will be commenced in October next.
