COMMENTING on the Bombay Government's withdrawal of the restrictions placed on the law students in respect of attending political meetings and taking part in political meetings, the Bengalee pertinently asks:-But why should a distinction be at all made between law students and students following other courses of study as regards their eligibility for attending political meetings? Are students reading both for law and M.A. examinations to be exempted from the operation of the rule, while those who are going up for the highest examinations in Arts even in economics and politics, are to be rigorously kept away from the precincts of political meetings?" The distinction is certainly, unreasonable and even invidious. Students who read in higher classes and are about to enter on the responsible duties of life should not be treated as though they were only children.
