Noisy Scenes in LS Over Remarks Against Golwakar

NEW DELHI, April 14 (UNI)-Uproarious scenes were witnessed in the Lok Sabha when certain remarks were made against the Shankaracharya of Puri and the RSS chief, Mr MS Golwalkar, during the discussion on demands for grants for the Social Welfare Department. Mr SM Siddayya (Cong) in the course of his speech said the minimum action the Government could have taken against the Shankaracharya for preaching untouchability was to prosecute him. Intervening, Mr Amrit Nahata (Cong) remarked that both Shankaracharya and the RSS chief were lunatics and they should be sent to an asylum. This led to loud protests from Jan Sangh members. Mr Jyotirmay Basu (CPI-M) was heard saying that the RSS chief was responsible for the communal riots in the country.
