The First Punjabi Girl at Oxford.

IT is gratifying to learn that Miss Shukla Beharilal (daughter of Dr. Beharilal Dhingra, M.D., Chief Medical Officer Jind State), who passed the Responsions of Oxford University last year, is now a student of Somervilla College, the premier institution for ladies at Oxford, as Girton College is at Cambridge. She is the first Punjabi girl to enter Oxford or Cambridge University, and we congratulate Dr. Beharilal on setting such a fine example to parents in India. This should inspire other Punjabi girls to take to higher education in this country and abroad.
