Cop dies of suspected dengue

BATHINDA: A man in his fifties died of suspected dengue at a private hospital on Sunday in the city. The deceased has been identified as Kashmiri Lal (50), who was working with the Punjab Police.

A man in his fifties died of suspected dengue at a private hospital on Sunday in the city. The deceased has been identified as Kashmiri Lal (50), who was working with the Punjab Police.

Lal, an assistant sub-inspector with the district police, was a resident of Lal Singh Basti. He was posted at the Rampura (City) police station. The deceased is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

SHO Rampura (City) Gurpreet Kaur said, “Kashmiri Lal was not keeping well for the past few days. On Friday, his condition worsened and he was admitted to a private hospital on the Bathinda-Mansa highway. His platelet count was down and due to kidney failure, he died on Sunday morning at the hospital. After completing the required formalities, he was cremated in the afternoon.” — TNS
