Muktsar, April 6

24-year-old Nupur Goyal has brought laurels to Gidderbaha town by clearing the civil services exam, the results of which were declared on Friday. She has secured 246th all India rank in the UPSC exam. A large number of people on Saturday thronged her house at Lachhman Colony to greet the family.

Nupur said her cousin had motivated her for the UPSC exam. She did BTech from a college in Bathinda. In 2015, she moved to Delhi for the exam.

She said she cleared the exam in her third attempt. “In 2016, I could not clear the preliminary exam. In 2017, I could not clear the mains exam. Finally, my hard work paid off and I cleared the mains and got the 246th rank in the exam held in 2018. I could not believe until I saw the results myself,” said Nupur.
