HC judge pays visit to Barnala courts, jail

BARNALA: Justice Manjari Nehru Kaul of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Administrative Judge of Barnala on Monday visited the district courts.

Justice Manjari Nehru Kaul of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Administrative Judge of Barnala on Monday visited the district courts.

Accompanied by Virinder Aggarwal, District and Sessions Judge, Barnala, and Rupinder Singh, secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), the justice also visited District Jail. Justice Kaul met undertrials and prisoners and heard their grievances.

The officials also inspected food, water, cleanliness of jail barracks and other facilities being provided to inmates. Justice Kaul suggested that all inmates should make efforts to learn skillful work to become self-dependent in their lives. She also suggested initiatiation of skill development programme in Jail for jail inmates.

Justice Kaul also visited District Bar, Barnala. Gurwinder Singh, president of District Bar and vice-president Paramjeet Singh Masouen, along with members of the Bar, welcomed the judge.
