Keenly contested matches seen on Day 4 of school games

BATHINDA: On the fourth day of the 64th inter-district school games 2018-19, exciting contests by U-17 boys and girls of hockey and handball were seen at various places in Bathinda on Tuesday.

On the fourth day of the 64th inter-district school games 2018-19, exciting contests by U-17 boys and girls of hockey and handball were seen at various places in Bathinda on Tuesday.

At Sports School, Ghudda, Assistant District Education Officer (Sports) Gurpreet Singh along with Baljeet Kaur, hockey observer, and Ravi Kumar, handball observer, met players and wish them good luck for matches.

The results of the matches played on Tuesday were: in U-17 handball boys, Jalandhar defeated SAI, Ludhiana, 22-7; Kapurthala Gurdaspur 22-11; Bathinda Fatehgarh Sahib 20-10; Fazilka Ludhiana 15-10; Amritsar Hoshiarpur 31-10; Mohali Fatehgarh Sahib 20-15; Jalandhar Barnala 15-14; SAI, Ludhiana, Mansa 19-6; Kapurthala Faridkot 26-16; and Bathinda Mohali 19-17.

In U-17 hockey (girls), SAI, Muktsar, defeated SAI,Patiala, 2-0 and Sangrur routed Muktsar 6-0.

In U-17 hockey (boys), PIS, Mohali, defeated Malwa wing, Ludhiana, 5-1; SGPC, Faridkot, Amritsar 4-0; Patiala Moga 3-2; Cherhta wing, Amritsar, SAI, Patiala, 4-2; SAI, Patiala, Bathinda 4-0; and Khalsa wing, Amritsar, defeated Ludhiana 6-0.
