Punjab is all set to get a huge boost in the electronics sector with Dixon Technologies investing Rs 300 crore in the State.

In a meeting held here today, the Industries and Commerce Minister Punjab Gurkirat Singh Kotli and Executive Chairman of Dixon Technologies Sunil Vachani had wide ranging discussions.

An official release said that the meeting was followed by a detailed presentation by Dixon outlining the segment in which they serve and brands associated with the group.

The Executive Chairman Sunil Vachani apprised the Industries Minister that Dixon shall be setting up an electronic manufacturing plant through a Joint Venture (JV) with Bharti group in Ludhiana with an investment of approximately Rs. 300 Crore including land and building. He further divulged that they had received the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) approval under the–Government of India PLI Scheme for the Telecom sector . Giving further details, Sunil Vachani informed that recently, Dixon Technologies and Beetel Teletech Limited had entered into Joint Venture Agreement. The JV Company-Dixon Electro Appliances Private Limited, had acquired manufacturing facility in the city of Ludhiana, Punjab.

Punjab has recently attracted many key investments recently including by Shree Punjab Cement, JKPL Packaging Products Limited, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd Swaraj Division, Arihant Spinning Mills, International Tractors Limited, Hero Electric Vehicles Pvt. Ltd., Vardhman Adarsh Ispat Private Limited, Allengers OEM Private Limited, Sunjin India Feeds Private Limited etc.
