Panchkula’s skaters achieved laurels in the recently concluded Haryana School State Speed Competition at St. Theresa Convent School in Karnal.
Seventeen competitors from Panchkula won medals in different age categories.
In the boys’ U-11 inline category, Aryaveer won three gold medals (500m, 1000m and road lap race) and was duly selected for the School Games. In the same category, Anay Kaul won silver in the 1000m and bronze in the road long race. In the girls’ U-11 inline category, Anahita won two silver medals (500m, 1000m) and bronze in road lap race and she too was selected for the nationals. Tanvi won two silver medals in road races of the same age-group.
In boys’ U-11 quads event, Satwik Sharma was the third to get selected for the School Games after winning the rink 500m gold medal. Parth Singla won bronze in the road race and another bronze in the 1000m rink race event. In the girls’ U-11 quads category, Jannat won silver in the 500m rink race and Saanvi won bronze in the 1000m rink race.
In the open U-14 quads event, Chahat won gold in the 1000m rink race and silver in the 1000m, and she too was selected for the Nationals. All the Panchkula trainees practise at the Rolling Tigers Academy in Panchkula. — TNS
