Five more persons in the city were diagnosed with Covid-19 today. With the surfacing of the new cases, the UT tally has reached 411.
A 62-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man from Dadu Majra are among the fresh cases. The samples of the woman’s six family contacts living in her house have been taken for the Covid test. The man is a family contact of an already positive case of Sector 24. He has three family contacts, all of whom have tested negative for the virus.
A 37-year-old man from Sector 50 has also contracted the virus. He had returned from Delhi, where he works, on June 16. The patient has three family contacts. One of them resides in Sector 50, while the other two stay in Mohali.
Two more cases have been reported from Khuda Ali Sher. A 31-year-old man, working in the private sector in the city, has tested positive for the virus. He has nine family contacts, all of whom have been sampled. A 48-year-old man, who is a workplace contact of an already positive case of Sector 43, is the other patient. He has four family contacts.
